Rip-roaring laughter at comedy showcase

Full house as patrons enjoy belly-ripping jokes

With the nation involved in a number of marches and protests, the end of March and the beginning of April plunged the country into a period of gloom. Many agreed that some form of comic relief was long overdue.

To lift the spirits, Crisp Kitchen launched their monthly comedy showcase which saw well-known and aspiring comedians taking to the stage to ease the blues.

The comedy showcase was launched on April 9 and featured the comic musings of Dillon Oliphant, Mojack Lehoko, Nicholas Goliath and Richelieu Beaunoir.

Emerging talents Am Ocean and Christopher Abrahams also took to the stage and had the audience eating out of the palms of their hands.

According to organiser Earl Davids, “The Crisp Kitchen Comedy showcase aims to create a platform for aspiring comedians to hone their skills.

“The next show is on May 7 with the following comedians in the lineup: Dillon Oliphant, Loyiso Madinga, Glen Biderman-Pam and Robby Collins.
