Zamimpilo residents protest for a better living (audio interviews)

Rea Vaya station stoned and set alight

Zamimpilo residents went on a rampage barricading roads with stones, burning tyres and torched a Rea Vaya in Bosmont.

Apparently, the protest is about the lack of housing. Residents have been waiting for Gauteng MMC for Housing Mzobani Ntuli and he hasn’t been responding.

Councillor Basil Douglas is communicating with residents and trying to calm them down.

Communications officer Kraai said that the police have the situation under control, they’re blocking off everything to ensure that nothing else gets damaged.

Our journalist is on the scene and a complete report on the story will be published in due course.
