A MEGA bid to make Eldos great again!

'Lets make Eldos great again'

Education in South Africa has been disrupted for years now and numbering among the communities which have suffered as a result of this, is Eldorado Park.

The Greater Eldorado Park community has made headlines for all the wrong reasons, if it is not the drug pandemic making headlines, it is the violence in schools, murders and other crimes that negatively affect the community. With all the crimes taking taking place, there is a sense of hopelessness and despondency within Eldorado Park.

In response to all the negativity, the GoetesMoetBalance Social Justice Advocacy campaign, in partnership with the Eldorado Park Principals Forum, is organising a mega rally to unite behind matriculants, commit to a joint matric pass rate goal, compile, present and publicly commit to a plan of action by all stakeholders.

The rally also aims to bring the community together so they can stand together in prayer. Urick Adams, the spokesperson, said that the community needs to stop focusing on all the negativity.

“We must stop focusing on what’s wrong with our community but rather what makes us strong. Eldorado Park is a praying community, therefore we will humble ourselves, repent and pray but on this day we will also reveal a practical blueprint on how every stakeholder will contribute to Making Eldos Great Again.

“From SAPS to the guy selling sweets on the street, yes everyone has a role to play,” he said.

“We cannot just pray, we start with praying as an act of committing our plans to God but thereafter we will align ourselves with strategic action consistent with this plan. We cannot just pray alone and neither can we depend on just our human efforts alone #GoetesMoetBalance,” he added.

Residents are encouraged to wear red. The rally will take place at the Ext 6 Soccer grounds on October 12 and 13th and the programme will start at 9am.
