It is time to get our women talking
'Many will agree that women are truly amazing'.
Over the years, women from different generations and communities have proven their strength and independence. Today, women have made amazing contributions in government and in the business world as well as in the lives of their loved ones.
Many will agree that women are truly amazing and every once in a while they need to be reminded of their strength and courage. With women issues in mind, Women Talk, an organisation based in Eldorado Park, hosted a series of workshops to inspire and encourage women from the area.

The organisation was founded by Priscilla Maart who firmly believes that God guided her to start the organisation. Maart’s daughter, Hope Jourd said that her mother has always been passionate about women issues.
“She had a vision one day and since then she vowed to help other women realise their potential, said Jourd. Maart, with the help of Hope Jourd, Carol Marescia, Ebony Pretorious, Quincy Jourd, Raeez Jacobs and Jesse Maart, successfully managed to arrange Women Talk workshops for women in Eldorado Park.

“The last workshop was held at the stadium in Ext 9. Three speakers addressed the women in attendance and spoke about purpose, emotional baggage and what it means to be a woman. The workshops are all about experiencing God’s healing, we tackle women issues, and this is a safe space for our women,” said Jourd.
“The workshop is not limited to only the speakers addressing the women, we have group sessions as well. These sessions are all about self-expression, making friends and putting our differences aside,” she added.
Women Talk hopes to find a permanent venue where regular workshops can be held.

“We would like to host camps for our women, expand to other communities and build a strong sisterhood,” said Jourd.
“Our women go through so much, so often they have to be the pillars of their families, this is a safe space where they can deal with any form of grief, abuse, depression or any other issues they might have. We believe that facing your issues head on will help you start the healing process,” she added.
