“I believe that we are all gifted with a unique set of skills and abilities and with those abilities we can make extraordinary things happen in the world around us, or not,” he said.

“I coach youth in different organisations such as Liberty, Thebe Investment, City of Johannesburg, I basically coach them on Interview etiquette, self-branding, how to handle different situations in the workplace and how to carry themselves as an employee, because most of the youth are fresh from varsity so they struggle to switch from a student life to being a professional employee,” said Malefetsa.

While students spend an average of 14 hours in university a week, employees work an average of 32 hours, so the jump is bound to be difficult.

Malefetsa says that what makes his motivational talks a success is that, he has been where they are and has experienced the challenges they are facing, thus, whenever he speaks, they can relate.

“These are former UJ students who are currently looking to be placed in different organisations. I was given this amazing opportunity to motivate them because assisting young people to succeed has become my passion,” said Malefetsa

“I also coach youth who are struggling on life matters on a day-to-day bases, matters such as getting employment and their situations back at home, I always tell them that the life I am living right now, is not where I started, it was never an easy journey for me, but I fought until I made it,” he added

The Pimville Urban News journalist, joined one of his sessions held at the University of Johannesburg on Sunday, June 28 to witness this fruitful gathering of young people and we can confirm that Malefetsa is doing a great job, through the testimonies from some of the young people who benefited from his motivational talks.
