A 42 year old man was arrested for alleged fraud at the Protea Glen mall

The suspect failed to explain to the police where he got the cards.

A 42 year old man was arrested for fraud in Protea Glen Mall on Friday morning.

The people were waiting on the queue to withdraw money at FNB ATM. They noticed a man busy withdrawing money with different SASSA cards. They tipped off the police and the police responded quickly.

The police approached the suspect and searched him. He was found in possession of 19 SASSA Cards, 07 Easypay cards, one Capitec bank card and one Nebank card.

He was also found in possession of an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect failed to explain to the police where he got the cards.

He was arrested on the spot and charged with fraud.

The suspect will appear in the Protea Magistrate’s court on a charge of fraud.
