After going into the break tied at 1-1, it was Northern Academy who found the winner towards the closing stages with a well worked goal to make it 2-1 and secure themselves a place in Durban.

Tournament ambassador, Lucky Lekgwathi applauded the sportsmanship displayed by the teenagers, saying that it is in line with what the tournament stands for.

He said as expected, they saw amazing talent on display from the teams which took part and what was even more exciting was seeing these teenagers making new friends after competing against each other which is in line with COPA’s spirit of creating friendships and fair play.

The former Orlando Pirates captain said he is certain that Northern Academy will go prevail in the national finals following a great deal of football display.
