"We appreciate the time our ladies dedicate to serving our children, may they dedicate their time until God calls them."
The ladies from Rena Le Lona felt so respected and honoured on Women’s Day when their colleagues, the men from the center spoiled them to a Women’s Day Lunch to celebrate their love, care and selflessness for the kids at the center.
Rena Le Lona is a healing center for orphans and vulnerable children, the children who visit the center are emancipated and healed from past woes and emotional injuries through art.
The manager for the center, Mlungisi Mvelase explained that according to his experience and knowledge from working with the kids himself and managing the center, looking after kids is not just a regular job but more like a calling.
Mvelase said, “Today on Woman’s Day we just sought to honour our ladies and show them that we recognise their hard work, we wanted to treat them like queens.”
One gentleman from the center, Kgomotso Thotobolo gave a heart warming talk about the importance of honouring people while they can see like giving them flowers while they can still smell them.
Thotobolo elaborated the 1956 history of the South African women who stood for their rights virtuously. The ladies from Rena Le Lona who are the ones usually doing the run-around serving got the chance to dress up and just smile while the guys from the center served them this time around, Thotobolo urged the women to support each other, he said, “Any woman can be called a mother but it takes someone to be called mom.”
The manager for the center, Mvelase spoke about how much of great work the ladies at the center execute on a daily, he concluded thus, “We appreciate the time our ladies dedicate to serving our children, may they dedicate their time until God calls them.”
