A fiery rivalry of Blaugrana & Los Blancos

Is Neymar about to make a U-turn back to FC Barcelona?

Speculation continues over the future of Brazilian international professional footballer Neymar Jr who has been linked with a move away from French giants Paris Saint-German or PSG as it’s popularly known.

  • Is Neymar about to make a U-turn back to FC Barcelona?
  • Can Los Blancos (Real Madrid) beat the Blaugrana to his signature?

The window in the Laliga Santander officially opened on July 1 and closes at 11.59 pm CET on Monday, September 2. Clubs can still sign free agents after this date and sell or loan players to leagues where the transfer market is still open.

Ligue 1 opened its window on June 11 and close it on Monday, September 2 at 11.59 pm CET, with the winter window spanning January. PSG will be looking to recover the world-record fee they spent on Neymar 222 million-euro. It is unlikely that both teams will spend such a huge sum of money but Neymar is most probably going to be loaned out with an option to buy.

  • Will Neymar leave PSG this window?

Your guess is as good as ours. From the 2008-09 to 2017-18 (last ten years) season, Barca managed to win the Laliga title a record seven (7) times and Real Madrid won it two (2) times. Real were runners-up on seven occasions. 19 points off the top last season, Real Madrid have invested heavily during the close season, with Belgium international Hazard arriving at the Bernabeu’s latest star attacker.

Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane has already set regaining the LaLiga title as his primary objective for the new campaign. In their opening game of the season, Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 3-1 in their away match. Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Lucas Vazquez were on their score sheet, with Iker Losada Aragunde netting a consolation.

The summer’s most fascinating transfer move was Barcelona’s signing of Antoine Griezmann from title rivals Atletico de Madrid to partner captain Lionel Messi in the attack. However, this was not a promising start for Barcelona as they lost by a goal to nil to Athletic Bilbao.

Aritz Aduriz was on target in the 89th minute to give his team all three points. Bilbao are off to Getafe in their second match while Barca looks to entertain Real Betis who also lost against Valladolid 2-1. Fans surely expect more from Barcelona who have been the dominant force throughout the years.

  • The big question remains, can Barca keep up without their captain L Messi or will they continue to perform poorly without him?
