The former Gauteng Queen talks life after Miss Gauteng
Nondumiso Mndebele to continue touching young girls’ lives after her life-changing journey as the 2019 Queen of Gauteng.
The former Miss Gauteng Exclusive Queen and Gauteng Youth Ambassador Nondumiso Mndebele ventured into business and continue to touch young girls’ lives after her life-changing journey as the 2019 Queen of Gauteng.
She handed over the crown to Nongcebo Mngadi on 16 November 2019 when her term ended; she said this year her focus is on business and giving back to her community.
Mndebele is currently a deputy director of a beauty pageant and runs her beauty and toilet sanitizer businesses.
“This year I am focusing on business and just exploring the entrepreneurship side. Last year I was so busy I could not pay attention to my business so I had to trust people with my business of which it did not go very well,” she continued.

“One of my new business endeavours is a toilet sanitizer brand and last year I made it clear that I have a passion for women, personal development and female hygiene. I think this is not too far aligned to what I did last year with the social dialogue, I just want to continue to learn more and find more ways to contribute to female hygiene,” said Mndebele.
Nondumiso was born in Mpumalanga but later moved to Johannesburg in 2017 to pursue her tertiary education; she holds a qualification in Public Relations and Communications.
During her term as the Gauteng Youth Ambassador, Mndebele encouraged community involvement while leading by example through mentorship, intercultural collaborations, education and other initiatives that provoked thoughts of youngsters in various communities around Gauteng.

Her core passions are to empower women, uplift the community, mental health, and charitable giving through her annual Touching Lives project.
One of the schools that were empowered by the project in Soweto is the Pace Commerce and Entrepreneurship School of Specialisation, in September 2019.
The Touching Lives team went to the school to engage in women’s health, the use of contraceptives and the stigmas attached to women’s menstrual cycle. The leaners were later tested and given sanitary pack accompanied by gift pack with a lotion and pads.
Although she said entrepreneurship will take up more of her time this year she added that she will continue to motivate and mentor young girls. She said the Touching Lives project is part of her wish list for this year.
