One unknown lucky individual from Spain won the entire jackpot amount of €130,000,000 (approx. R2,584,681,278) for the EuroMillions Superdraw held on the 25th of September. The winning ticket was sold in Valladolid in Spain.
The Superdraw is known as the Super Jackpot in the UK and Megadraws in Ireland. The rules of the Superdraw are the same as the standard rules of the EuroMillions. The only difference being the size of the guaranteed jackpot. The EuroMillions Superdraw guarantees a 9-figure jackpot and occurs 3 times a year as per the new rules set in February 2020.
When the Superdraw Jackpot isn’t won, it rolls over to the next draw until the jackpot cap of €200 million (approx. R3,976,432,736) is reached. The starting jackpot of the Superdraw jackpot is a least €100 million (approx. R1,988,216,368). The next EuroMillions Superdraw for the year 2021 has not been announced yet.

Although this jackpot may seem like a record holder, this was the smallest jackpot won this year and still R 2,352,681,278 more than the biggest jackpot won in SA this year. The first jackpot won this year was from a couple in France that won a total of €157 million (approx. R3,121,499,697). The second jackpot won this year was from a Spanish participant that won a €144 million (approx. R2,863,031,569) jackpot. There was only one Jackpot winner for the Superdraw held on the 25th of September. With a total of 5 winners in division 2 each winning a total of €247,047.87 (approx. R4,911,828). 2020 has definitely been a year of big jackpots for the EuroMillions Superdraw and crowned many winners throughout the year.
