The court will sit again on March 25 where Shoba will know his fate. On Friday, his defence team made an application to reopen the case and presented CCTV video footage as evidence.

The judge granted the application and the video was played in court. The video which shows Tshegofatso Pule’s last moment entering a white Jeep triggered emotions amongst her family and reopened unhealed wounds.

Shoba’s defence made a submission that the CCTV footage should not be considered as reliable evidence since it has some missing details. Pule is seen entering the white Jeep which pulls away at 22:06 and jumps to 22:09 to show Shoba walking back to the complex. The missing three minutes is what the defence team based its submissions on.

Pule’s family hopes the matter will finally be concluded on March 25. “We are hoping for the best on the 25th. We hope they don’t bring anymore applications or any other legal tricks,” said the family spokesperson, Tumisang Katake.

Shoba is accused of masterminding the murder of his eight months pregnant girlfriend in June 2020. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought against him.
