Operation O Kae Molao yields results in parts of Soweto
The multi-disciplinary operation between various law enforcement agencies included Johannesburg Metro Police and Gauteng Traffic Police.

The police are strengthening their local crime campaign O Kae Molao to root out crime and non-compliance through its crime operation that led to the arrest of a handful number people in its latest bid to fight the high crime rate.

The multi-disciplinary operation between various law enforcement agencies included Johannesburg Metro Police, Gauteng Traffic Police, The Department of Home Affairs, Patrollers and Community Police Forum led a successful operation on July 7 which focused in Diepkloof hostel, Bara Taxi Rank, Motsoaledi, Chris Hani Road and all four sectors in the Diepkloof policing prescient.
The successful operation resulted in the issuing of 45 traffic fines by the Gauteng Traffic Police and the Johannesburg Metro Police amounting to the value of R33 500 at a roadblock at Chris Hani road where 100 vehicles were searched and a further 251 persons were searched.
Some of the successes from the operation include the arrest of three individuals with cases of Common assault and further six arrests for the possession and dealing of drugs, for carrying nyaope, and dagga.
Further arrests were made when police pounded on liquor outlets that were operating without a liquor license where three owners were apprehended and stock confiscated and taken to police custody.

The Department of Home Affairs arrested 11 undocumented persons were arrested
“The operation is yielding positive results in the war against criminality and unlawfulness,” said Diepkloof Communications Officer, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto.
“This is part of our continued to serve and protect the community, through collaborative operations and ensure that we heed their calls for police visibility in the area.”
