Dobsonville Police arrest eight offenders during Operation Vala Konke
Suspects will appear before Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in due time while some were released on station bail.
A total of eight suspects were detained for various offences ranging from possession of drugs, selling of liquor without a permit and failure to register a second hand goods business by the members of the Dobsonville SAPS, crime prevention unit, social crime prevention and patrollers.

This follows an intense operation by the Dobsonville SAPS acting Station Commander Colonel Lengau and members on the morning of November 3 within the Greater Dobsonville policing precinct.
According to Constable Vusi Thokwan, Dobsonville SAPS spokesperson, the operation also made inwards to addresses of known criminals in the area which uncovered illegal firearms that were discovered at the said houses.
Explaining the scope of the operation, he said, “The problematic addresses provided by community members were raided, the tracing of wanted suspects conducted as well as random stop and searches.
“Dangerous weapons including live ammunitions were found in those addresses provided.”
The various suspects will appear before Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in due time while some were released on station bail.
