Eldorado taxi association donate to commuters and Kliptown fire victims
This comes after the Housing MMC handed over 25 shelters to the Kliptown fire victims and asked for assistance from the taxi association.
Eldorado Taxi Association held a food parcel donation day on October 28 in Kliptown as well as other taxi ranks in Johannesburg.

This comes after the Housing MMC handed over 25 shelters to the Kliptown fire victims and asked for assistance from the taxi association.

They therefore took it upon themselves to offer food parcels to the victims after they were moved to their new temporary homes.
Ignatius Botha, member of the Eldorado Taxi Association said, “We decided to take the initiative to provide food parcels for the fire victims and show them that they are not alone and we can see their pain.”

Since it was Transport Month, they did not tend with Kliptown, but they continued to give out food parcels at various other taxi ranks and gave their commuters free rides on that day.

“We also went to town to donate food parcels to our random passengers, more especially our elderly commuters,” added Botha.
They moved from Southgate Mall rank to Bree Taxi Rank and finished at Polly Street where their taxis operate.

During Transport Month, taxi drivers and owners really portrayed how much they appreciate and value the communities they serve.
