Local school honours the class of 2022
This comes as the matric class of 2022 made the school and the community proud by obtaining a 100% pass rate.
Last week Wednesday was a day of celebration for New Gen Academy as the school honoured and paid tribute to the class of 2022.

This comes as the matric class of 2022 made the school and the community proud by obtaining a 100% pass rate.
The award ceremony which was held at the school’s auditorium was attended by parents, teachers, school board members and learners.
The class of 2022 was given a standing ovation as they walked in to the auditorium to take their seats on stage where they were recognised.

All of them were presented with certificates including the top three and all those who got distinctions in various subjects.
Former principal, Mrs Sally Plesis thanked the teachers, parents and all the support staff for their work and supporting the learners at the school.
“Even during the very challenging times of Covid, you the all learners kept going to reach this goal. Thank you for being accountable and responsible for your own learning,” said Plesis to the class of 2022.
Members of the board also shared the same sentiments with Plesis and commended the learners for their perseverance even through difficult times.

Chairperson of the board Sorenso said the success of the class of 2022 and the whole school can be attributed to the good collaboration between the teachers, parents and learners.
“The unsung heroes here are the parents. It started with them 12 years ago when they followed the instructions from the school.
“I would like to say to them well done and thank you parents for your hard work,” said Sorenso to loud cheers and applause.
He went on to express how proud he was of the class of 2022 for what they have achieved.
“You cannot expect to achieve something without working for it and you guys have worked so hard. Well done to you guys.
“This is a start of a journey as you go to tertiary institutions or work and I want to urge you to keep the same tenacity and perseverance you had when you went through Grade 12,” said Sorenso.
The success of the class of 2022 means the bar has been set for the current matrics at New Gen. Principal, Mr Marlon Louw and the class of 2023 have promised to work hard to maintain the standard of the results moving forward.
