Vilaca Racing series revs up for action

The highly contested Vilaca Racing Time Attack Championship (VRTAC) returns for its sixth season, bringing high-speed thrills, adrenaline-pumping action, and a celebration of motorsport culture to the tracks of SA.
The VRTAC will take place across some of the country’s iconic race circuits, including the Red Star and Zwartkops raceways and the Formula-K SA circuit.

Jono Vilaca, the founder of Vilaca Racing, said the 2025 edition delivers heart-racing performances, cutting-edge automotive technology and a vibrant atmosphere that leaves spectators on the edge of their seats.
The series focuses on the ultimate race against the clock, with competitors pushing their cars to the limit in a bid for the fastest lap.
The format, while competitive, allows enthusiasts to enjoy the excitement of motorsport in a safe, controlled environment.
“This year marks our sixth season of Vilaca Racing, and we’re thrilled to bring even more speed, excitement and energy to the track,” said Vilaca.
“The Time Attack Championship is not just about racing. It is about creating an experience – one that brings together motorsport fans, families and car enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy a fun and thrilling day out.”
With six rounds on the track, the series offers a thrilling competition among talented drivers and incredible cars.

The races will start on March 8 at the Red Star Raceway in Delmas, followed by the remaining venues in Gauteng. Tickets cost R100, and children under 12 get a free pass.
