Community members, stakeholders, and various organisations showed support for the rape victim as the suspect (56) made his second appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on April 14.

The alleged incident took place on April 3 at the accused’s home. He was apprehended the following day and formally charged with rape.
In a statement released by the NPA, it was confirmed that the case was postponed to April 22 for further bail information, and the accused has been remanded in custody.
