Donation drive supports girls’ wellbeing at local school

Daniel Boshomane, founder of the Pelican Light Foundation, said the organisation is committed to bringing hope and restoring trust to those who may have felt forgotten.

Roodepoort Primary School girls received care packages donated by the Pelican Light Foundation in conjunction with the Diepkloof Police Station.

Community members from various sectors supported the foundation, making it possible to reach those most in need. The donation drive was planned and carried out at Roodepoort Primary School, where many girls face challenges that can affect their comfort and wellbeing.

The aim of the initiative was to uplift and support young girls by donating 125 care packages to learners at the school.

Gabriel Ndlovana, a teacher at Roodepoort Primary School, said the donation made a meaningful difference and brought smiles to many underprivileged learners.

“I think this is the start of a new relationship between the school and the foundation. We are hopeful that we will go far together because the joy they brought to these children is priceless,” he said.

“I would like to thank the Pelican Light Foundation for helping the girls at our school. We really appreciate the goodies you gave us,” she said.

Another learner, Olerato Modisane, also thanked the foundation and its team.

“I would like to thank the Pelican Light Foundation and its team for visiting our school and taking the time to share gifts and sanitary towels with us. We are truly grateful, and I am very happy,” she said.
