18-year-old arrested for murder in Eldorado Park
A co-ordinated police operation resulted in the arrest of a teen alleged suspect following a fatal stabbing in Eldorado Park Ext 7.
An 18-year-old alleged suspect has been arrested in connection with a murder that occurred in Eldorado Park Ext 7 on Sunday morning.
According to police, the incident took place at about 09:25 on January 11, along Abraham Andrews Street.
The victim was reportedly stabbed on the left side of the chest and was rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Eldorado Park SAPS members who were on duty at the time received information about the incident and immediately launched an investigation.
Through a co-ordinated effort employing the station’s 24-hour turnaround strategy, several units were mobilised to trace the suspect.
The operation involved Eldorado Park SAPS Crime Intelligence, the Crime Prevention Unit, the Tracing Team, Detectives, Gauteng Traffic Wardens, as well as the Community Policing Forum and members of the community.
Crime Intelligence-driven information led police to the whereabouts of the alleged suspect, who was subsequently arrested and detained at Eldorado Park SAPS cells. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon on a charge of murder.

Eldorado Park SAPS media liaison officer, Sergeant Fezeka Khobo, confirmed the arrest and praised the collaborative approach.
“This arrest is the result of strong cooperation between various SAPS units, our law enforcement partners, the Community Policing Forum and the community. Working together in unison remains critical in our fight against crime,” said Khobo.
Eldorado Park SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Mkhacani Maluleke, reiterated that combating crime remains a priority for the station in 2026.
