Man arrested for possession of stolen vehicle and drugs in Eldorado Park
A joint operation by the Eldorado Park Reaction Unit and Gauteng Traffic Wardens led to the arrest of a 50-year-old suspect after a stolen vehicle, and drugs were found during a stop on the N1 off-ramp towards Viking.
A 50-year-old man was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and drugs during a joint operation in Eldorado Park on Thursday, June 4.
According to a police statement, members of the Eldorado Park Reaction Unit, working alongside Gauteng Traffic Wardens, acted on information circulated through police communication channels regarding a vehicle reported stolen in Bloemfontein.
The vehicle was believed to be travelling towards Johannesburg.

Officers intensified patrols along the N12 and N1 routes, where the suspect vehicle was eventually spotted on the N1 off-ramp towards Viking.
The vehicle was stopped and searched, during which officers allegedly discovered three packets of drugs in the suspect’s possession. Further verification confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen.
The suspect was arrested on charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and possession of drugs.
He is expected to appear in court soon.
Police have encouraged members of the public to report illegal activities in Eldorado Park.
