Police seek person of interest in Dobsonville rape case
Police are appealing to the public to help identify and locate a person of interest who may have information about a rape reported in Dobsonville on September 1.
The Johannesburg District Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is appealing to members of the public to assist in identifying and locating a person of interest who may assist with an ongoing rape investigation.
The case was reported in Dobsonville on September 1.
According to the police statement, the victim was walking along the street to a local shop when a white Toyota Quantum with three unknown male occupants approached her.

The statement further states that one of the men allegedly forced her into the vehicle before they drove to an unknown open area, where she was allegedly raped.
“Police have released a photograph of a person of interest whom they believe may have information that could assist with the investigation,” the statement said.
Members of the public who can identify the person or provide information about his whereabouts are urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Ntobong, on 067 100 2282.
Information can also be reported to the nearest police station or the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
Members of the public can also provide information anonymously through the MySAPS App.
