City urges residents to update municipal contact details

The City urges residents to keep their municipal account details up to date to avoid missed statements, billing issues and possible service disruptions.

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) has stressed the importance of keeping contact details and information up to date to ensure that statements reach the correct account holders and that billing issues are identified and resolved early.

This comes after the CoJ has observed that many customers fail to update their contact information when opening municipal accounts or when changes occur.

This often results in statements not being received, missed payments, and, in some instances, service disconnections.

Kgamanyane Maphologela, director of customer communications in the City’s Group Finance Department, urged customers to update their details, saying: “ Customers are encouraged to update their contact details to ensure they receive accurate and timely municipal statements and important service notifications.”

Customers can update their details with the City’s primary and alternative contact details, landline number, send an email to CojStatements@joburg.org.za, or log in and update their details on www.e-joburg.org.za
