Astro Kids and Adults Organisation host a fun walk

This day was a reminder that it is important to support NGOs within townships because they help restore the rights and dignity of the people they serve.

Astro Kids and Adults Organisation from Pimville Zone 4 hosted a fun walk to promote and educate the community about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.

The walk was done to celebrate Human Right’s Day under the theme ‘My Body My Freedom’ and it took place on Thursday March 21.

Smangele Nxumalo, founder of Astro Kids and Adults Organisation said, “We are here today to promote a healthy lifestyle under the theme ‘My Body my Freedom’ which raises awareness about health issues which arise due to malnutrition and mental health. It is happening on an important day for South Africans.

“It’s a day where we all remember the 69 people who died during the Sharpeville Massacre and we chose to remember it through ensuring that we prioritise our health.”
