Kiddies Hope Academy Ennerdale hosts Career Expo

Kiddies Hope Academy Ennerdale branch hosted their first career expo last week where children got a chance to be exposed to the aviation industry.
This comes after the Dobsonville based academy expanded by opening a new branch at Ennerdale in February as per request from the community.
Children could not contain their excitement when they got a chance to learn about aeroplanes, pilots and how airports work.

As per the Kiddies Hope culture, this was not done in the classroom but it formed part of the field trip where children got to immerse themselves in the whole aviation experience.

Xolani Sithole from Kiddies Hope Academy said this was the continuation of their career expo programme they have been running with children in their Dobsonville branch.
“This was their first career expo at Ennerdale where children got a chance to be flight attendants and pilots.
“They had a chance to interact with the aviation team and learned about everything that has to do with aeroplanes and flying,” explained Sithole.
The learning did not stop there for the little ones as they also took a return flight to King Shaka International Airport in Durban on the same day. Clad in their pilots and flight attendant attires, the children created memories of a lifetime as they learned while at the same time having fun.
This was done for them to get the full experience first-hand. Sithole emphasised the importance of such learning experiences for children while they are still young.
Not only does this teach them about various career options available for them in future, but it also helps instil a sense of confidence in them from an early age.

He said this was the first of many for children from Ennerdale, Lenasia and surrounding areas who recently became part of the Kiddies Hope family.
There are also international trips planned for the future where children will visit other countries to learn about different cultures.
“What makes us happier is that our work of educating children has attracted even other races as well,” said Sithole.
“It’s not only children from Soweto now as we have other races which makes cultural exchange and social cohesion much easier.”
Sithole thanked parents and the community of Ennerdale and surrounding areas for trusting them with their children and giving then the opportunity to educate them.
He also thanked LIFT Airline for partnering with Kiddies Hope Academy in making the career expo a success and giving children lifetime memories.
