Brovember Campaign launches to combat men’s cancer in SA
Take the move for a mental health challenge and support Brovember.
The Men’s Foundation SA launched its annual Brovember campaign on November 1, in partnership with Build It, to raise awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancer in South Africa.
The campaign, running throughout November, encourages men to grow a moustache, get active, or donate to support life-saving cancer screening, support, and treatments.
“Brovember aims to challenge toxic masculinity and promote proactive self-care among South African men,” said Garron Gsell, CEO at the Men’s Foundation SA.

“We’re creating safe spaces for men to open up and ask for help.”
In South Africa, access to cancer treatment remains a significant challenge. The Men’s Foundation is addressing these gaps through the Brovember campaign, with Build It’s partnership representing a significant commitment to this mission.
“Build It is proud to support the Brovember campaign, giving back to the communities that support us,” said Chris Quayle, national marketing executive at Build It.
Throughout Brovember, men can sign up to grow a moustache for 30 days, take on the Move for Mental Health Challenge (80 km walk, cycle, or run, or deadlift 80kg) and access vital information on men’s health issues.
The campaign shines a light on the critical need for improved access to cancer care and treatment across South Africa.
