A much-anticipated landing from Grimace the purple McDonalds character took place at OR Tambo International Airport for a nationwide tour.
Grimace will be embracing everything South Africa has to offer from the vibrant culture, music and iconic landmarks that make South Africa special.
Sechaba Motsiela, McDonald’s South Africa marketing director shared his excitement about Grimace’s arrival.
“We’re thrilled to have Grimace here.”

Grimace will make special appearances at selected McDonald’s restaurants across South Africa where families will have a chance to engage and take pictures with him.
CEO of McDonalds SA Greg Solomon emphasized on how Grimace is all about reaching out to the community and customers at large.
“Grimace will be touring around the world. Here in SA he will visit many local communities and restaurants,” said Solomon.
Grimace’s visit coincides with the expansion of Mobile Order Pay where customers can order ahead including the Grimace Shake.
All in the spirit of giving back, there are amazing prizes to win like T-shirts and hats. Grimace will make an amapiano song too.
