Diepkloof boy (9) dies under mysterious circumstances
The police have opened an inquest docket and are working to piece together the events leading up to the death.
Gauteng police have launched an investigation into the sudden death of a nine-year-old boy in Diepkloof, Soweto, on December 2.
According to reports, the boy went to sleep after having supper the night before, but failed to respond when his family tried to wake him up the following morning.
Paramedics were called to the scene, where they certified the boy dead.
The cause of death remains unclear, pending the outcome of the postmortem results.

Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, provincial SAPS media liaison officer, confirmed that the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.

As the investigation continues, the Diepkloof community is left to grapple with yet another loss of a young life.
