Residents cautioned of possible floods due to heavy rains in Gauteng

The Gauteng Department of Human Settlements urges residents to stay safe amid heavy rains.

The Gauteng Department of Human Settlements (GDoHS) has issued an urgent appeal to residents, especially those in informal settlements, to exercise caution during the ongoing heavy rains that have affected the province.

The severe weather poses a heightened risk of flooding, particularly for vulnerable communities.

In a public statement issued by the department’s head of communication, Tahir Sema, the department stressed the importance of adhering to safety guidelines to minimise the potential impact of the rains.
