Speaking to the Soweto Urban News, principal Elsie Mphahlele said the programmes and expectations implemented for these matric learners were intensive.

With hard work and commitment, the 2024 matric learners of Lufhereng Secondary School achieved a perfect pass rate, setting a new academic standard.

“Before the start of the academic year, we usually call a meeting with the parents and learners to outline our expectations.

“One is absenteeism. We don’t allow any absenteeism without a valid reason from the educators or the learners.

“We also make sure our learners become committed to their work and the programmes we implement as a school, such as the camps,” she said.

Mphahlele was happy with the matric results and wished the former learners well for the future.

“I am happy to see that all 165 learners passed and hope those going to tertiary will work as hard as they did here in school,” she said.
