Mthembu said Amod’s humble and calm demeanour left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him – both within the council and in the community of Ward 82, and as a dedicated servant of the people.

Mthembu said Amod’s unwavering commitment to his community was evident throughout his career; from his tenure as a PR councillor to his time as a ward councillor.

“Amod’s good heart, collaborative spirit and willingness to work across political divides were a hallmark of his character.

His contributions in the council chamber were always meaningful and impactful, and his absence will undoubtedly leave a void, not only among the DA benches but across the entire council.
