Local learners celebrate Valentine’s Day

The founder of the foundation, Daniel Boshomane, calls on businesses to assist them with donations that can help them make a difference in the community.

Pelican Light Foundation shared love and kindness with the learners of Ditawana Primary School on February 13 as they celebrated Valentine’s Day.

The memorable day saw 86 Grade R learners from the school receive Valentine’s Day goodies.

The founder of Pelican Light Foundation, Daniel Boshomane, said their plan of filling the day with love for the learners was a success judging from the smiles they witnessed on the learners’ faces and being able to give them this experience warms their heart as a foundation.

“We are blessed to be able to share the little we receive from our various sponsors with the learners.

“When we were planning this day, the end product was giving the learners an experience they will remember for a long time as well as showering them with the spirit of love and sharing so that they can go back home to share it with their families and friends,” Boshomane said.

He added that the donated goodies were sponsored by SweetmartSA and they are grateful for all the donations they have been receiving from local companies since the establishment of their organisation.

“Our gratitude goes out to all the companies that assist us when we come to them asking for assistance.

“We would not be able to give back to the community if it was not for the little that they give us.

“They always open their doors for us when we knock and with this, we know that it is not only us who want to make positive change in the community but we have people who are willing to work with us.

“We are calling on other local businesses to come in and also donate the little that they have which will be used towards making positive change. We are glad to have been able to put a smile on their faces.”
