25 laptops donated to Heerengracht Primary

Brand South Africa, the radio station 947 and the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa donated laptops in their commitment to education and digital empowerment.

The Heerengracht Primary School (HPS) in Eldorado Park received a donation of 25 laptops on February 26.

These devices will have a lasting influence on learners’ education, bridge the digital divide, enhance academic performance, and improve career exploration.

Brand South Africa, radio station 947, and the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) made this donation possible through 947’s Schools Invasion initiative.

Eden Daniels, the PHSP principal, said they were grateful for the donation, saying it would empower their learners. “The world is going digital, so these laptops will get us closer to ensuring our children are ready.

“As teachers, the onus is also on us to safeguard these laptops and help our learners,” said Daniels.

According to the donors, they secured the laptops in 2024, handing them to the school on Wednesday.

Each device will enhance digital learning opportunities for the learners in Eldorado Park.

PRASA’s group head for human capital, Naledi Modibedi, said they recognised that investing in learners was key to building a skilled and future-ready workforce.

He said their goal is to ensure learners have access to digital tools and that every child, regardless of background, has the resources and support needed to thrive in the modern economy.

“We are empowering young people and bridging the digital divide that often limits opportunities.”

Brand SA’s head of communications, Thoko Modise, said this collaboration was about more than just a donation. It would impact and empower learners with tools to support their education.

“We are proud to have continued our partnership with 947 and PRASA, reinforcing the spirit of nation-building through education.

“Brand SA is grateful to all the partners and stakeholders who made this initiative a success as we collectively work towards shaping a brighter future for SA’s youth,” Modise concluded.
