First digital and tech-ed campus opened in Diepkloof

All learners who graduated from the program last year have already secured job placement.

Boundless launched the Boundless Soweto Campus, a state-of-the-art digital and tech-education hub designed to empower South Africa’s unemployed youth on March 14.

Globally recognised and accredited by IT, AI, and 4IR skills, the campus is housed in an abandoned school in Zone 3, Diepkloof, formerly known as Lebowa Primary School, which has been vacant for over 15 years.

This revitalised space is now a cutting-edge learning ecosystem dedicated to shaping the next generation of tech leaders, AI specialists, and digital entrepreneurs.

Boundless Soweto Campus is housed in an abandoned school in Zone 3, Diepkloof.

“This initiative is made possible through corporate partnerships leveraging B-BBEE skills development and enterprise development spend, ensuring that unemployed youth receive fully funded training in machine learning, cyber security, cloud computing, data science, and automation.

“By investing in skills development, businesses are not only fulfilling compliance requirements but also playing a direct role in bridging the digital divide and creating sustainable employment pathways for South African youth,” said the managing director of Boundless Group, Sipho Claasen.

“This grand opening is more than an event—it’s a transformative milestone for innovation, skills development, and economic growth. Boundless Group is a collective of companies dedicated to addressing South Africa’s socioeconomic challenges through strategic innovation, youth empowerment, and job creation.

“Boundless Foundation mobilises funding and partnerships to champion education, skills development, and employment initiatives, fostering public-private collaboration for lasting socioeconomic transformation.

Boundless Soweto Campus is open to residents who want to gain more IT, AI and 4IR knowledge and skills.

“Together, Boundless Group is shaping a future where innovation, empowerment, and strategic partnerships drive inclusive growth and long-term impact.”

Classen added that the learners who will be taking part in the programme will have 12 months of learnerships, which will cover theory and practical work and they will later be placed in companies that they work with to acquire skills.

“We are hoping that we will have learners from disadvantaged backgrounds joining us and taking advantage of this program.

“The good thing about it is that they do not have to spend on transportation when coming to campus.”

The CEO of Formulated IT Group, Anthony Kinnear, announced during the event that all the learners who graduated from the Boundless programs last year have already secured job placement.
