Local learners do Maths and Science in a fun way
What better way to do so than by watching lessons in the cinema, enjoying popcorn and drinks with quizzes with prizes as well?
Mlungisi Nkosi, known as the Favourite Uncle from the Mlungisi Nkosi Maths and Science Center (MNMSC), in partnership with Vumatel, hosted Morris Isaacson High School and Thabo High School from Soweto at the Sterkinekor Cinema in Southgate on April 5 for a different experience of learning mathematics and science.
The day took maths and science out of the traditional classroom setting and packaged the subjects in a more exciting and fun way.

Vumatel saw it fit to partner with MNMSC as this is an online platform where learners get to get someone who is not their teacher at school to teach and interact with them and this will need internet connection.
“Thank you to Vumatel for coming on board and supporting this initiative. Our partnership is important because they connect our world of tutoring.”
He added that he hoped that the learners take away a lot as this was something different and fun and encouraged them to interact with his YouTube channel.

Marketing CSI coordinator of Vumatel, Thandazile Mkhize, said: “We as Vuma are all about giving back to our communities and when Mlungisi pitched this idea we thought it was a great initiative.
“We also strive to make sure that with our services learners get to interact and gain access to such material online.”
