Rape and murder accused of Orlando girl appears in High Court
Simiao was on the run until residents took to the streets to look for and apprehend him.
The Mozambican national, Pethe Simiao, accused of the kidnapping, rape and murder of Amantle Samane (6) appeared in Johannesburg High Court today.
Simiao allegedly lured Samane, who was playing with her friends, to his rented shack where he raped and strangled her to death on October 21, 2024 in Orlando East.

Simiao faces charges of kidnapping, rape, murder and contravention of the immigration act.
The matter is set for a pre-trial hearing in the Johannesburg High Court on May 9.
