JMPD warns of job scams circulating on social media
JMPD has been brought to the attention of a fraudulent advertisement circulating on social media platforms about their academy intake.
The JMPD has been made aware of a fraudulent advertisement making its rounds on social media platforms and potentially other platforms, falsely claiming that the police academy is open for new intakes.’
JMPD unequivocally states that this advertisement is false and does not originate from the JMPD.
The information contained in the advertisement including the reference number, closing date, location, minimum requirements and purported stipend is fabricated.

JMPD chief of police Commissioner Patrick Jaca said. “It is concerning that individuals are attempting to deceive the public by falsely associating themselves with our department.
“We want to assure the residents of Johannesburg that our recruitment processed are conducted with the utmost integrity and are always communicated through official channels.”
Jaca urged everyone to be vigilant and rely only on verified information from the COJ and JMPD.
The JMPD is investigating the source of this fraudulent advertisement and will take necessary action against those responsible. The public is urged to refrain from providing any personal information or making any payments in response to this or any other suspicious recruitment advertisements.
