Water police recover bodies in Gauteng

Police are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deaths of three officers in Centurion.

SAPS has confirmed the recovery of three bodies presumed to belong to missing police constables who were reported missing after a suspected hijacking and kidnapping on April 23.

The officers, identified as Cebekhulu Linda (24), Keamogetswe Buys (30), and Boipelo Senoge (20), went missing while travelling to Limpopo, where they were deployed.

SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the police are still at the scene at the Hennops River in Centurion to collect evidence to help with the probe.

“We have three bodies so far whose identities are yet to be confirmed.

“We are searching for another body and for any evidence that will assist us in concluding the case of the missing police officers,” said Mathe.

The police are working diligently to secure evidence and piece together the circumstances surrounding the officers’ deaths.
