AmaZulu FC spreads love and support to senior citizens at Ephraim Zulu Centre

Head coach Arthur Zwana said the visit was aimed at showing care, encouragement, and appreciation for the community’s seniors.

In celebration of their 93rd anniversary, AmaZulu FC visited the Ephraim Zulu Senior Citizen Centre to spend time with the elderly residents and show appreciation for the community’s senior citizens at Mofolo Central on September 30.

The visit also included the handover of bulk groceries to the centre, providing essential supplies to assist in meeting the daily needs of the elderly residents.

Ephraim Zulu Senior Citizen Centre is one of the programmes run by the Salvation Army, providing care and support for elderly residents in need of a place to stay, with assistance from both the public and the government.

Speaking to Urban News, AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwana said the visit was intended to show love and support to the elderly residents, check on their well-being, and offer encouragement.

“We came with the players and members of the technical team for this visit, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the elderly residents.

“Being here allows us to show our support and spread positivity, and we believe that such gestures bring goodwill to everyone involved. We also want to thank the Salvation Army for welcoming us and making this visit possible,” said Zwane.

Zwane added that spending time with the elderly shows them they are still loved and appreciated.

Salvation Army head of communication, Thataetsile Semeno, said that elderly people sometimes need extra support, which is why they welcomed the AmaZulu FC team to visit and show love, especially to those who had not received visitors in a long time.

“We have elderly residents who haven’t received visits from their families in a long time, so having the AmaZulu FC team here today has truly brightened their day. It shows them that they are still loved and cared for.

“We are very thankful to AmaZulu for taking the time out of their busy schedule to be with us, and we are truly grateful,” said Semeno.
