Vine Church donates to top learners in Braamfischerville

Members of a local church recognised Kgatelopele Secondary School’s top learners with donations aimed at encouraging continued academic achievement.

Members of the Vine Church on the West Rand donated to 23 top learners in grades eight to 11 at Kgatelopele Secondary School in Braamfischerville on October 13.

The donation recognises the learners’ academic achievements, with each student receiving a package containing a Bible, a R500 uniform voucher, stationery, toiletries and snacks.

The church previously visited the school to meet with the principal, teachers, the student governing body members and learners to discuss the school’s most pressing needs in supporting the students’ education.

Following the discussion, the church delivered groceries for the Grade 12 camp, along with pillows for the learners.

The church pledged to find sponsors for the school to strengthen its support over the next five years, focusing on identifying and addressing the learners’ needs more effectively.

Diane Boden from the Vine Church spoke to the learners about the importance of education, reminding them that they are the future generation of the country and emphasising that they made the right choice in attending the school.

The packages included a Bible, a R500 uniform vouchers, stationery, toiletries and snacks.

“Our visit came at the right time and for all the right reasons. We are committed to supporting the school and look forward to working together to meet the learners’ needs in the years ahead,” said Boden.

Kgatelopele Secondary School principal Owen Rikhotso encouraged the learners to give their all to their studies.

“As a school, we must give 100% toward our studies to achieve success. We will continue to do our best as teachers to support learners who might be falling behind and remind them that help is always available,” said Rikhotso.
