Maponya Mall launches Threads Up charity store to support local communities

Maponya Mall has opened its Threads Up charity store, providing donated clothing and restoring dignity to more than 200 community members during the festive season.

Generous shoppers helped the Maponya Mall (MM) launch its Threads Up charity store on its first floor on December 16.

Earlier this season, the mall asked the public to donate pre–loved clothing.

The community responded strongly, as did three NPOs the MM partnered with for this initiative, resulting in more than 200 people benefiting from the donations.

The charity store gave the less fortunate dignity and support during the festive season by allowing them to select items that met their needs and style, making the experience meaningful and respectful.

Mall marketing manager Sharon Radebe said, “This initiative shows the power of our community. Our shoppers came together to help others, and we are grateful for their kindness.”

The charity store draws many shoppers.

This project is part of MM’s social and economic development efforts to give back to the communities it serves.
