Residents urged to follow procedure when reporting electricity faults
Residents are urged to report electricity faults directly to Eskom and provide their reference numbers to the ward councillor’s office for follow-up and escalation.
Ward 30 residents are being urged to follow the correct procedure when reporting electricity faults to ensure that outages are properly attended to and followed up.
Ward 30 Councillor Mohau Molefe said residents should first report electricity-related problems directly to Eskom and obtain a reference number.
The reference number should then be provided to Molefe’s office, allowing him to escalate the matter with the power utility and follow up on the fault.

Molefe said his office had noted instances where only one resident had a reference number, while other residents continued to report the outage without formally logging a fault.
He said having a reference number was important as it allowed the progress of a fault to be tracked and Eskom to be held accountable for addressing the problem.
“We are appealing to all residents to do their part by first logging the call with Eskom,” said Molefe.
The councillor reaffirmed his commitment to assisting residents and ensuring electricity-related challenges in Ward 30 are attended to as soon as possible, provided the proper reporting channels are followed.
