Bree Primary to represent SA in Morocco

Bree Primary School will play against 31 other teams coming from various parts of the world.

Bree Primary School beat Nelson Mandela Primary School 2-0 to become the South Africa Danone Nations Cup champions.

The school will now represent South Africa at the International Danone Nations Cup finals set to take place in Morocco later this year.

Bree will be playing at international level for the third time and won the overall competition in 2009.

Its coach, Bafana Dlamini said they worked extremely hard from the beginning of the tourney.

“This team is similar to the one in 2009 that won the world finals, they are hard workers, they are determined and they are disciplined,” said Dlamini.

He said the national finals were very tough and competitive but the team had home ground advantage and that made them even more determined.

“On hearing that we were playing Nelson Mandela in the final game I knew that we had it in the bag as we were stronger than them.

“They were slower than us and our two goals came quite easily and it was not a tough final for us,” he said.

The coach credited the team’s captain, Ntando Simayile for his great deal of leadership.

“I have been privileged to have coached him for five years now and he is an exceptional player, very disciplined and committed to the sport.”

At the international finals, Bree will play against 31 other teams coming from various parts of the world.

The players will get to meet their soccer heroes such as the tournament ambassador and former France and Real Madrid legend, Zinedine Zidane.

This tournament is not only about winning but to enjoy the game.
