Gauteng Champ of Champs competition returns

Three Premiership teams will battle each other when the Gauteng Champion of Champions Tournament takes place.

The Gauteng Provincial Government will once again host the Gauteng Champion of Champions Tournament.

This ground-breaking football initiative will once again feature three quality Premier Soccer League clubs in reigning Nedbank Cup champions, SuperSport United FC, Bidvest Wits FC, MTN 8 champions and Highlands Park FC, the NFD playoff champions in a round robin competition.

The second edition of the tournament will make a return to the Tsakane Stadium and is set to take November 13. Fans will once again enjoy a first of its kind format of high-paced football action where all three teams take each other on in a 45-minute match which will leave the teams with no choice but to go for an all out attack.

MEC for Sport, Art, Culture and Recreation in Gauteng, Faith Mazibuko urged fans to go to the stadium and support of this initiative.

“Gauteng prides itself in developing such initiatives that not only bring excitement to our province but demonstrate that we are a government that truly cares and understands the needs of our community. “This is a tournament that we want citizens to be proud of and it can only grow with their support. “We therefore call upon the fans to attend and enjoy this tournament which we are working tirelessly to put together for them,” said Mazibuko. Tickets to the competition are now available at Computicket, Shoprite Checkers and Usave Outlets.
