Teenage boy murdered in Braamfischerville panga attack
The teenager was reportedly attacked near a local school before being rushed to a clinic, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have launched a manhunt following the murder of an 18-year-old boy who was allegedly attacked with a panga in Braamfischerville on June 2.
According to Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, police received a report of a death at a local clinic at about 10:35. Upon arriving at the facility, officers were directed by medical staff to the victim’s body.
Sibeko said preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased, a learner at a secondary school in Meadowlands, had left home earlier that morning to visit a friend in Phase 1, Braamfischerville.

“It is alleged that the two proceeded to a secondary school in the area, where the deceased was attacked and assaulted by unknown suspects,” she said.
She added that the victim sustained severe injuries and was transported in a private vehicle to a local clinic for medical treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Sibeko said the motive for the attack remains unknown at this stage. No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
