DA donate to the needy
Elderly receive 15 new wheelchairs from a political party.
The Democratic Alliance from White City donated 15 wheelchairs to the elderly at the Soweto Home for the Aged.
The donation came after a needs assessment was done by activists of the party during a visit at the home.
“When we came here for the first time, we donated shoes but we later realised that the residents here need far more than shoes, we noticed that their wheelchairs were in very bad condition and it didn’t seem like much was going to be done about that.
“We took some time out to gather some resources with the intention of coming back and we did.
“As ward candidate, my team and I have been preaching that we want to make every day a Mandela Day and we marked the beginning of July as one of the many times when we give back,” said Thabang Setle from ward 35.
