When Nomahlubi Xaba took over the reigns and became the school principal at Sediba Thuto Primary School, the school was collapsing and facing closure.
But the principal with the help of parents, School Governing body (SGB) and school teachers managed to play their cards correct and save the school.
“This school is heading to being one of the greatest primary school in Mapetla, slowly but surely, our mission will be accomplished with no failure.
“Some of the major projects introduced since taking over the reigns here include the introduction of the in-house social workers, introduction of other African languages to accommodate many pupils.
“Through the help of Boikanyo the Dion Herson Foundation, we launched food gardening, we have also managed to turn the school into a maths and science school and now we are building a dance studio for our pupils.”
Xaba said that all the projects were never easy to start but they were perseverance.
“We had no choice but to be patience and strategic because we wanted to offer our children quality education and make sure that they are exposed to life developing opportunities at school and outside the school.
“So far everything that we have dreamed and hoped for at this schooling is coming to a place and the children are going to receive the better and greatest education offered at primary school levels.”
