Zone 1 choirs sing their souls out
Meadowlands choir revive the culture of acapella music.
Zone 1 choirs graced ‘clap and tap’ music lovers at Bapedi Hall with their inspiring music last week Sunday at their fund raiser concert.
The Soweto Mighty Voices and Dimpho Gospel Choir from Zone 1 Meadowlands battled it out on stage to win the hearts of music lovers.
Doing it to revive the spirit of choir music, both choirs showed that the music is still relevant in the community and still has the potential to grow.
“We feel that the current youth is losing interest in choir music and as a result of that the tradition is slowly fading away and we would like to change that.
“We appeal to young people to come and enjoy being part of a choir and see what it is like to grow musically,” said Tumi Kabamba, an executive member of Soweto Mighty Voices.
