The Miss Springs Pageant is looking for young girls and women who embody grace and beauty with a purpose to enter the 2026 local pageant.

Entries for Miss Springs 2026 are now open and girls and young women between the ages of three and 28 have an opportunity to enter.

One of the organisers, Chanté van Schalkwyk, said the pageant will feature five categories: Petite Miss for ages three to six, Little Miss for ages seven to nine, Junior Miss for ages 10 to 12, Teen Miss for ages 13 to 16 and Miss Springs for ages 17 to 28.

While entries for the Miss Springs category will close around the end of August or beginning of September, the younger categories will remain open until mid-November. Van Schalkwyk said there are a few requirements for those interested in entering.

“Any girls and young ladies are welcome to enter from three to 28 years. There are, however, requirements that the participants have not been previously married or are not currently married, or have children of their own,” she said.

She added that a debutante is set to be crowned in each category. For the four younger categories, contestants will take part in a formal evening-wear ramp on November 21 at Die Agterplaas in Springs.

The Miss Springs category will follow a different process, as contestants will take part in interviews, a meet-and-greet with the Miss Springs mentors, two photo shoots, and other events before the final on October 17 at Die Agterplaas.

Van Schalkwyk said the pageant is intended to help participants build confidence while enjoying the experience.

“We are looking for girls and young ladies who would like to build their confidence and enjoy a fun beauty pageant,” she said.

She added that previous modelling experience is not a requirement.

“This is a beauty pageant for all young girls and ladies, with or without modelling experience or background. Everyone is welcome to enter,” she said.
