Boertjies vs Souties
With only a few golfers on the course, the Boertjies challenged the Souties in an IPS game but the Souties had the upper hand and won the challenge.
Rachel Howard, golf pro, says the Souties won fair and square with a 0.17 score.
The overall best player in the rain was Marius Krauser with 39 points followed by Greg Palmer in second place with 37 points.
Nearest to the pin was Brendan Flynn.
The club also hosted the Ekurhuleni Golf Union Senior Social League on Saturday.
Rachel says some players chose to sit in front of the bar’s fireplace after nine holes while others continued to play through the wet and cold conditions.
Andrew Mathibe came out tops with 39 points.
Rachel says on Sunday the course remained open for the Far East Rand Junior League against junior golfers from Glendower.
“We unfortunately lost to the Glendower team, but it was good golf considering the weather conditions,” she says.
